Survey Highlights Relationship Between Productivity and the Office Environment
DUBLIN, November 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
A recent survey has suggested that working people put a great deal of stock in their surroundings when they are at work and they respond keenly to changes, both negative and positive. The news will make interesting reading for businesses hoping to expand, recruit or change their image in the coming months and years.
The latest study by property developer DeVono polled over a thousand professionals based in London this summer on the factors that have an impact on their performance and their attitude to work. Improvements in the workplace were singled out by many of those taking part in the survey for the impact they have on morale and performance.
Perhaps the most glaring figure that report produced came in the shape of the 65% of London professionals convinced that they would work harder, put in more overtime and generally do a better job if the office environments they worked in were more comfortable and more desirable.
Co-director of DeVono Adam Landau suggested that company directors are learning that "by offering the best working environments they are likely to gain better performances from existing staff and also attract the best candidates during a recruitment process."
Office supplies retailer Office Spot sees a great deal of activity from customers interested in doing whatever they can to improve working environments in their offices - both in terms of the convenience those workplaces provide and the comfort employees find there.
